WHITENING OF TEETH

Teeth’s whitening is a new trend in dentistry. Teeth can become stained from tobacco, coffee, antibiotics or from foods and beverage with artificial colours.

There are different procedures for whitening teeth: using gels or even laser treatment. We use a 16% karbamid peroxide gel. The procedure is very simple and with no side affects. The patient carry’s a plastic bleaching tray 4 – 8 hours for a minimum of 8 days. The gel changes the colour of the teeth by entering the enamel and dentin. The whitened teeth last for 3-4 years, after when the procedure can be renewed. Whitening of teeth is successful for less discoloration, but for very dark teeth you should use other systems like veneers or crowns.
